Lyrics Writers notes

Your home was my safe place
But they’ve taken it away
Expected to see your face
Lord, we need you to stay

You refuse to repent
I’ll spit you from my mouth
You allow the serpent
To dwell in my house

Can’t you see
Can’t you see
The words you hear
Aren’t coming from me

I needed the truth
From a man of faith
I asked what’s the use
Nothing but lies from his face

The whole world wants us
To change just for them
Make them feel better
A license to sin

Can’t you see
Can’t you see
The words you hear
Aren’t coming from me

We’re attacked from all sides
We need that safe place
Oh God I ask you
To show us your face

A day is coming
We will see the Son of man
Take back your church
Lead us by your hand

Can’t you see
Can’t you see
The words you hear
Aren’t coming from me

There’s no way to talk about this song and be politically correct. The word “ detestable” in the bible was not used lightly. Certain guidelines were laid down to ensure that the church could stand up to the testing of God himself. We all know that churches aren’t perfect because they are made up of people, but God set up standards for the way that they should be run. There were guidelines for priest, deacons, and all other ministries in the church. According to Leviticus 18:23, “ do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestable”, God is saying that we are not to have practicing homosexuals serving in the church. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be allowed to go to church and not be showed love and understanding, but that they should not be ministers in the church. I am not writing this from a man’s perspective, but from the word of God. This song is about that same topic.

It would suit us perfectly if we could give away for free, and we do offer free listens
but - cd sales support us and makes this possible,
